As an extension of the outsourced staffing models, CSM can assist clients by assuming full responsibility for the operation of whole systems or individual programs. Although less practical for smaller providers, this level of contract management can be valuable for larger organizations lacking a full continuum of services and/or qualified leadership.

Hospitals with inpatient psychiatric units that provide only limited or no additional behavioral health programming will find this model particularly attractive. This can be especially true if efforts to de-certify the beds or curtail programming have been met with community or regulatory opposition.
